My “Teaching Composition” course at CSU was honored to be able to talk with David Kirkland this past week. We’ve been reading his powerful book A Search Past Silence: The Literacy of Young Black Men. I’d written about finishing his book over the summer and Kirkland’s words have been resonating with me throughout the semester.
